Daniel Part Two

King Nebuchadnezzar was part of the other story of Daniel.  He was the King for 42 years.  He did follow the one true God after seeing the faith of Daniel.  The new king is Nabonidus he did his own thing worshiping nature.  He had money and used it to get rid of everything from the temple that the Jews used to worship the one true God.  King Belshazzar was the next King. During a party where they were drinking wine a hand appeared and started writing on the wall.  It said "Mene, Mene, Tekel, and Parsin". Those are not words used anywhere any more.   A book told me Mene, Mene means your days are numbered.  Takel means on a scale, it came up short. Parsin means it will be broken apart.  Not one of the wise men could figure out the meaning of it. King Darius became the next King.  King Darius had heard about Daniel's gifts. He decided to ask Daniel to try to figure it out. Daniel was one of the administrators used to help as the kingdom was now large. The other administrators went to the King.  They praised the King and got him to create a document that said no one could worship any other god than him. They also got him to make it irrevocable or changed. It was for only 3o days.  The other adminsisters knew that Daniel prayed three times daily facing Jerusalem on his knees. Daniel was caught worshiping someone other than King Darius they would be thrown into a lion's den. The King was made aware that Daniel did not follow that new rule so he would be thrown into a lion's den.  That King did get stuck between a rock and a hard place.  This document was irrevocable so King Darius had to put Daniel in the lion's pen. He also had to lock closed with the King's ring.  Having made to do that bothered King Darius so much that he fasted and could not sleep.  King Darius rose early the next morning, went to the lion's den, and called for Daniel.  He did not expect a response but was happy to hear Daniel respond. The King said to get Daniel out of the den.  The King then threw the men who set up Daniel into the den with their families and they did not even hit the ground before the lions started eating them.
